Yuffie Kisaragi
Step 1: finding Yuffie
You will encounter Yuffie in a battle in one of the forests on the world map. She usually is found in the Gongaga Area, Junon Area, and around the Temple of the Ancients. I found her near the Temple of the Ancients. Make sure you defeat her in the battle!
Step 2: talking to Yuffie
What you say to Yuffie determines if she joins your party or not, so make sure you give the correct responses in this order: "Not interested", "Petrified", "Wait a second!", "That's right", and, "Let's hurry on". Yuffie will then your party.
Vincent Valentine
First Step: the safe
The safe is located in the Shinra Mansion. To open it use this combination:
RIGHT-36, LEFT-10, RIGHT-59, RIGHT-97
If you pass the numbers or run out of time, the safe will not open. The clues for these combination numbers are found on the paper to the left of the mansion's entrance. The first 3 hints lead you to places with the first 3 answers, while the 4th number is an invisible 4th choice. Once you open the safe, you will receive Odin's Summon Materia and the basement key. You will also have to fight the boss monster, 'The Lost Number'.
Second Step: the basement
Follow the spiral staircase down to the library. In the long corridor towards there, you will find a door. Use the key to unlock the door and enter the crypt. Move to the base of the central coffin and press the circle button to open it. Vincent will awake.
Third Step: talking with Vincent
Talk to Vincent about Sephiroth. He won't be in the mood, and he'll go back in his coffin. Open the coffin again and ask who he is. He will go back to sleep in his coffin. Finally, leave the room and Vincent will come out to join your party.
