Bone Village - Located on the northern continent, this village is a small miners' town. Come here to excavate items from the earth.
Chocobo Farm - Keep your chocobos safe in the stables here. Also, purchase greens and nuts for them, and get some info about chocobos.
Cosmo Canyon - Red XIII's home. Check out their 3-D model of the universe, and learn a little about the planet.
Costa del Sol - A sunny beach next to the ocean. Take the boat to Junon, or hang out in their bar.
Fort Condor - A big condor and condor nests rest on top of this place. Help the people here sve the condors!
Gold Saucer - This giant golden structure is one big party. Check out more about it
here.
Gongaga - A peaceful village. You'll find Zack's parents here.
Icicle Inn - A snow-covered town. You'll snowboard from there to get to the Northern Crater. Also, it's rumored Aeris was born here.
Junon - This is a fairly large sea-port city. Complete with a colossal canon jutting from it.
Kalm - Kalm is quite, um..., calm. It's located just east of Midgar.
Mideel - This town is way down south on the planet. It's pretty peaceful until the Lifestream cracks through its ground.
Midgar - This large industrial city is where FF7 begins its journey. Each of its sectors is complete with a Mako Reactor.
Nibelheim - (not on map) Cloud and Tifa's hometown. Also home of the Shinra Mansion. It burnt down 5 years ago, and the people there now are quite mysterious.
North Corel - This little village is made up of tents. It wasn't like this always, until an accident with the reactor there accurred.
Northern Crater/North Cave - A huge rift in the planet, created a very long time ago. The planet never fully recovered from it.
Rocket Town - This town has a huge tilted rocket protruding from it. Shinra's space program was to have it flown into space by Cid. But, well, I won't spoil the story...
Temple of the Ancients - This temple, built by the Ancients (Cetra), is a big puzzle. Made that way so the Black Materia is almost impossible to acquire.
Wutai - Yuffie's hometown. What's past that large cliff?
