Battle System
ATB
ATB, or Active Time Battle is the system used for Final Fantasy VIII. Up to three characters participate in the battles, taking turns as it goes on. When the player's ATB gauge is full, their turn begins. Once action is taken, the gauge goes back to zero and starts filling up once again.
