Final Fantasy Xtreme - Part 1

Chapter 1: The Beginning
Fade to black, and things pick up as Rein is arriving in Zanarkand for a Blitzball tournament*
*talking to the two girls on the right*
Girl 1: Could you sign this for me, please?
Rein: Why?? Get away from me!
Girl 2: Good luck!
Rein: It'll be a snap!
Rein: And hey, tonight when I miss a goal...IÕll blame it on you!
Rein: And that'll be my message to you two!
*talking to the three boys on the left*
Boy 1: Lemme have your autograph!
Rein: Sure thing!
Boy 2: Over here!
Rein: No problem!
Boy 3: Me too!
Rein: C'mon! I only have two hands! IÕm not supergirl ya'know
*heading down the middle*
Rein: Okay, I've gotta get going. Be sure to come cheer for me!
Boy 1: O Great One!
All 3 Boys: Teach us Blitzball!
Rein: Are you deaf? I said I've got a game now!
Boy 2: Then when it's over!
Rein: Well... tonight's... kind of......
Mysterious Woman: Not tonight.
Rein: Uh... yeah, tomorrow, tomorrow!
Boy 3: For sure??
Rein: No! I don't have time for you!
*Rein heads towards the stadium, remembering her father*
Rein: Coming through, coming through!
Rein: Yes yes, excuse me...
Rein: C'MON! Move or IÕll throw a ball at your head and kill you!
Rein: MOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
*Finally entering the stadium, the Blitzball game commences. Midway through, some problems appear, and Rein finds herself out of the game running amongst panicked spectators*
Rein: Daddy?!?
Rein: What are you doing here????
Auron: Waiting for you.
Rein: Would you make some sense for once?! Because that didn't make sense! HEY!!! HEY!!!I'M TALKING TO YOU!
*Auron walks off and Rein follows, and she is once again confronted by the mysterious female*
Mysterious Woman: It's starting.
Mysterious Woman: Don't cry.
*The woman disappears and the mayhem resumes*
Rein: ......what was that?
Rein: Hey, wait!
*Rein catches up to Auron*
Rein: Why THIS way!?
Auron: Look.
Auron: We called it "Sin."
Rein: Sin......? WhatÕs a Sin? Can I eat it?
*Several pods land on the road where Rein and Auron are standing. After Rein tries to fight them in vain...*
Auron: Use this.
Auron: It's a gift from me.
Rein: *smiles* More gifts!
Auron: I hope you're a fast learner.
*Battle commences*
Auron: We have no time to deal with these. Let's break through!
Auron: Don't even think about taking them all on. Just get rid of the ones in the way and run!
Rein: What the hell is with these guys?!
Auron: Let's take care of them all at once.
*Rein and Auron finish off the enemy and move on*
*Rein looks up at the picture a guy*
Rein: Grinning idiot...
Rein: Auron! It's okay for us to run away!
Auron: It's coming.
Rein: Huh?
Rein: I don't have time for this!
*Midway through the next battle*
Auron: Hmph, this is getting out of hand...
Auron: Hey, cut through that thing over there.
Rein: What for!
Auron: I'll show you something interesting.
*After attacking the machine several times, something interesting happens*
Auron: Run!
*Rein flies through and, holding onto a ledge, reaches up to Auron*
Rein: Dad!
Rein: Father!!
Rein: Auron!!?!
Auron: This is what you want, isn't it?
Auron: Your fate is sealed.
Auron: This is your story.
Auron: And yours alone.
*Everything disappears into a bright, white light*
Voice: Hey!
Voice: Hey!
Rein: Father......?
(X : Descend)
*After making her way down to the platform, Rein narrates*
(Rein)
"I remember thinking many different things.
What's going on? Where am I?
Eventually, I got drowsy and fell asleep......"
"It was like I was dreaming.
Dreaming I was stranded, alone.
Wishing for someone, anyone, to be with me...
It was a dream with those kinds of feelings."
*Rein wakes up amongst ruins*
Rein: Is anyone there?
Rein: Daddy?!!
Rein: Uwaaaaaaaaa!!
*Rein swims ashore*
Checking on the rock face: Well, what do you suppose this is? I haven't a clue...
*She begins ascending*
*The walkway collapses beneath Rein, and she quickly finds herself fighting for her life*
*fleeing from the big fish*
Rein: This is BAD!! Stupid fish! IÕll turn you into Sushi!
*Rein then narrates a little more*
(Rein)
"Things are getting steadily worse. I am without both dreams and hope.
It was that kind of place."
*Inside the ruins*
Rein: So cold......
Rein: A fire..... Where could I make a fire.....
*After making the fire, Rein drifts to sleep*
Rein: I'm soo hungry......
*In the dream*
Rein: What is it this time?
Auron: That was a pretty careless mistake.
Auron: The loss was clearly your fault.
Rein: You came over here just to tell me that?! What kind of father are you?!
Auron: Today is... the day you lost your first gameÉ.
Rein: Yeah...? Hey donÕt rub it in!
Auron: I thought you might be alone crying.
Rein: Whaddya mean crying! I donÕt cry over stupid things!
Mysterious Woman: But you did cry.
*Rein wakes up, but the fire has gone out*
Rein: H,hey, what gives!? You went out!?
Rein: Wait just a sec, let me go find some more stuff!
*But she has company. Midway through the battle an oddly-dressed group shows up, and one aids Tidus*
Rein: A friend!? Thanks!
*After the battle*
Rein: Thanks again!
Rein: What're you doing!
Man 1: YOMIYU HASHIKOOGA?
Man 2: MAMONO GA! SHINDENSHI ZATESE UNGA
Man 3: HOFUGA! HOFUSHI CHIYASSEU!
Man 2: TAHHI YAFUA!?
Rein: ????
Woman: YASSE!
Woman: SHINDEN GASSANA?
Man 2: HOO SOCHIMA KIASA HAMI
Woman: GARE GAMO! KUMESHI YUESE MIYOFU
Woman: ZOREN
*Rein sinks to the ground and loses consciousness, waking up on the Salvage Ship*
Rein: Uhh......
Rein: Ow......
Man 3: TOSOHAKIRU KISENO!
Rein: I'm hurtin'!
Man 2: FUZORUHAMO MIMIHA!
Rein: I, I give up.
Man 4: KOHIKOOMU ARUSHINKINO
*Man 4 makes gestures and tries to explain to Rein*
Rein: I don't understand at allÉHey cool a clowny typeÉmime thingy!
Man 4: KAANHAMIOA......
Rein: I said I can't understand you!
Man 3: CHIRAYA!
Woman: YASSE!
Woman: Help out with the work, and we'll look after you, okay?
Rein: You can understand my language!? YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rein: I got it, I'll work!
*Rein goes over to speak with the woman*
Woman: At the bottom of the sea lie ruins from long ago.
Woman: They aren't functioning right now, but maybe there is some energy still left.
Woman: If we head down there and tinker with them a bit then maybe we can get them working again...
Woman: And then maybe pull them up.
Rein: Huh...
Woman: Come on, let's get to work!
Rein: Okay!
*Rein proceeds into and through the ruins, eventually being forced to battle a giant squid*
*Back on the ship, the Al Bhed refuse to let Rein come inside*
Rein: Hey, I thought I helped!
*After a while*
Rein: Soo hungry......
*The woman arrives with a bang*
Rein: Ohhh! Food!!
Woman: Quite the speedy eater...
Woman: Now what?
Rein: What is your name?
Woman: It's Kidd.
Rein: You really do understand!!
Rein: But in that case why didn't you just talk normally in the first place?!
Kidd: There wasn't time for that!
Kidd: Everybody thought chi were some kind of demon......
Rein: Chi?
Kidd: Oh, "chi" means "you".
Rein: Who ARE you people?
Kidd: We're the Al Bhed tribe. Can't you tell from the language?
Kidd: Don't tell me you're an Al Bhed hater?
Rein: Hater...? I've never even heard of you.
Kidd: Where are you from, anyway?
Rein: Zanarkand.
Rein: I'm a Blitzball player there. The ace of Zanarkand Abes!
Kidd: Did you, uh, hit your head or something?
Rein: YOU guys hit my head alright.
Kidd: Well, do you remember what happened before that?
(Rein)
"About Zanarkand...
About the game, what life was like...?
About how Sin attacked during a Blitzball game...
And how I ran after my dad, and was pulled into the light......
I just talked about things as they came to mind, but before long I started getting uneasy."
Rein: Did I... say something strange?
Kidd: So you got close to Sin......
Kidd: Don't worry! I'm sure you'll be fine in no time.
Kidd: People who come in contact with Sin are always little messed up.
Kidd: You probably just had a really weird dream, is all.
Rein: I'm... sick?
Kidd: I think Sin's poison probably got to you.
Rein: Why do you say that?
Kidd: Because...... Zanarkand isn't around anymore.
Kidd: Sin attacked and destroyed it 1000 years ago.
Kidd: So there's no way you could've played Blitzball!
Rein: Wha?
Rein: Whaddya mean 1000 years ago!?
Rein: I saw what Sin did to Zanarkand.
Rein: That was 1000 years ago!? No way I can believe something like that!
*A brief break from the conversation*
Kidd: Well, um......
Kidd: You say you were a Blitzball player?
Kidd: Maybe you should try going to Luca, then.
Kidd: Somebody there is gotta know you......
Kidd: It might help you remember something too, you know?
Rein: Luca?
Kidd: Right then, you just leave it to me! I'll take you to Luca!
Kidd: Don't you WANT to go?
Kidd: Okay, I'll just go tell everyone about it, okay? Wait just a sec.
Kidd: Oh yeah... by the way!
Kidd: Don't go telling people you're from Zanarkand.
Kidd: That place is Ebon holy ground, so you might anger some people.
*Kidd exits, fade to black*
(Rein)
"Zanarkand is Ebon holy ground?
It was like, what the heck are these people talking about?
Ebon? Sin's poison? Luca? These people never made any senseÉat the timeÉI wish they did.I thought I'd just come to some faraway place, that I could go back home easily.
Rein: Jumped a thousand years?
Rein: Screw that!
*The ship rocks, and something approaches from the sea*
Man 1: Sin!
Man 1: Sin DA RUUBO!
Man 2: YAKISASHI MIUBO!
