Jenova Rebirth - Part 1
By: Scars
Chapter 1
Vincent was walking through Sector 8, after the Lifestream fused with Holy all hell broke loose.
The energy of both Holy and Meteor collided with the core of the planet, causing the entire face of the planet to be re-arranged.
ItÕs been 3 years since then. Order has somewhat been restored, but many people died because of that.
Ever since then he has been searching for Lucrecia.
Lucrecia was a test subject of Hojo, so logically he was scouting for ex-Shinra employees.
After beating the #@%% out of a low rank Turk he found Reno's new hideout.
He, of course, never thought he would have to rely on him, but he would do anything to get Lucrecia back.
A familiar figure stood in the rain; Vincent approached him.
Reno: Vincent, I knew you were coming. Still looking for Lucrecia heh?
Vincent: Don't talk big Reno, I can't kick your @$$ any time so you better don't play with me.
Reno: Whatever. What do you want from me then?
Vincent: C'mon, Hojo must have kept some kind of locator on his experiments?
Reno: What makes you think that?
Vincent: I know him way better then you do, Reno.
Reno: .........
Vincent held up his gun while saying: I guess you know what happens next?
Reno: .........search the lab.
Vincent: what?
Reno: Hojo's lab in the Shinra building; if he had a tracer it would lie there.
Vincent turned around and started walking away.
Reno: You don't think you can go alone do you?
Vincent: Why not?
Reno: That place is full of demons ready to bite off your head!
Vincent: IÕve been through worse.
Reno: No, you haven't. Those guys have gotten stronger with time, Vincent.
Vincent ignored him and started walking towards the Shinra building.
It was quiet, the air was filled with the smell of dead bodies.
ÒServes Shinra right,Ó he thought.
Two small demons approached, and he quickly used his rifle and took them out with one blow.
Hmm, are these the strong enemies he was talking about?
It just shows he's a weakling.
He didn't have a key card and the regular elevators were down so he started walking up.
When he opened the door to the 4th floor he heard a sudden roar.
Before he knew it an undead monster was walking right towards him.
He held up his rifle ready to fire, but the demon launched his horns in his direction.
It got stuck in his leg, and now the creature was running towards him at high speed.
Then a lightning bolt dashed through its head.
The demon fell down and Vincent saw where the bolt was coming from.
Vincent: Reno.............
Reno: I told you so.
Vincent: What do you want?
Reno: IÕm not a Turk anymore Vincent! Shinra is dead.
Vincent: No reason to help your enemies.
Reno: Well, yeah, thanks for saving your butt!
Vincent turns around and climbs the stairs.
Reno: C'mon! you can't do this alone.
Vincent: Why should I trust you?
Reno: Why shouldn't you?
Vincent: Because you tried to kill me....and not just once.
Reno: I got paid to!
Vincent: But you enjoyed it, didn't you?
Reno: What?
Vincent: You enjoyed fighting me and the others......
Reno: How would you know?
Vincent: We used to be friends, you and I. I know you very well, Reno.
Reno: Well, if you know me all that good, you know you can trust me.
Vincent continues his walk to the next floor.
Reno: Hojo's lab is on the 67th floor! You'll never make it! I have a key card to that level; you need me to pull this off!
The key card got Vincent's attention; he thought he would accept after all............but with caution.
Reno: C'mon! You'll get yourself killed!
Vincent: Fine.
Reno: What?
Reno had a surprised look on his face.
Vincent: Fine, but don't pull any tricks; don't go thinking I trust you.
Reno: Ah......fair enough. LetÕs go!
Reno and Vincent run towards the elevator, with Vincent closely watching him every step.
Reno: Okay, this is a long drive.
Reno uses the key card and pushes the 67th floor button.
He turns around only to see Vincent with an armed rifle.
Reno: Whoa! Easy!
Vincent: I allowed you to help; I didnÕt say IÕd trust you.
Reno: You said that already.
Vincent: Shut up; I still don't see your motives.
Reno: Uhhh, you said it yourself: we where friends. I knew that...if I would have let you go in this place all alone, you'd never come out again.
Vincent: ..............
Reno walked towards one of the dead-looking PCs.
Reno: Ok. Looks like this one is still running.
Vincent: Can you find it out already?
Reno: Sure.
Vincent: Hojo has that many test subjects?
Reno: Sure does. IÕll run a search for Lucrecia.
During the search Vincent sees many familiar names.....Cloud....Zack......Red XIII......and even some old Shinra employees he used to know.
Reno: Here it is! Lucrecia.
Vincent: Where is she?
Reno: Junon falls......or what's left of it.
Vincent: What?
Reno: Well, it used to be Junon falls, but now its not even near Junon.
Vincent: Can you see if she is still alive?
Reno: No, it might as well be her corpse lying there.
Vincent: Well it will have to do.
Vincent walks out and back in the elevator.
Reno: Huh?
Vincent: What? Would you rather stay here?
Reno gets in the elevator and they get back to the first floor.
As soon as they get back Vincent walks off.
Reno: Hey wait!
Vincent: What is it now?
Reno: Why are you looking for her anyway?
Vincent: What's it to you?
Reno: I knew Lucrecia, you know......poor woman.
Vincent ignores him and walks on. Reno decides to turn around and go back home.
He stands in front of Junon falls and its huge crater. He had just hired a chocobo to get all the way down.
Fearlessly he searches the crater, and after a long search he finds a small cave.
The ground was wet and he felt the cold air through his light vest.
He saw a woman in the back of the cave, walked towards her, and said: Lucrecia?
She turned around. Vincent, knowing it was Lucrecia, ran to her.
But...he saw her face......filled with blood, behind her flames started to form a shape.
......J-Jenova!
It looked exactly like one of the Jenova spawns: birth, life, and death
Vincent: Tornado!
The Jenova seemed insulted more than hurt. Once again, flames started to collide.
But this time on Vincent.
He felt the heat tearing his body apart as he fell towards the ground and caught one last glimpse of the Jenova wailing away.............
